Ravens Report- Week 8 2008

Ravens Report
Last Sunday, the Ravens beat the Miami Dolphins 27-13 to improve their record to 3-3. After the first quarter, the game was tied at three after a 21-yard field goal by Dolphins K Dan Carpenter and then a 47-yard field goal by Ravens K Matt Stover. Then, Ravens LB Terrell Suggs picked off a pass by Dolphins QB Chad Pennington and ran 44 yards into the end zone to give the Ravens a 10-3 lead. After that, Dan Carpenter made the score 10-6 on a 26-yard field goal. Next, the Ravens took a 17-6 lead on an 11-yard pass from Ravens rookie QB Joe Flacco to WR Derrick Mason, for Mason’s first TD catch of the season going into halftime. In the third quarter, Matt Stover hit a 28-yard field goal to make the score 20-6. Then, the Dolphins made the score 20-13 on a 7 yard pass from Chad Pennington to WR Davone Bess. After that, Ravens RB Willis McGahee made the score 27-13 on a 5-yard touchdown run to seal a Ravens victory.
Player of the Game: Ravens RB Willis McGahee- 19 rushes, 105 yards, one rushing touchdown, 2 catches, 47 receiving yards
Next Sunday, the Ravens host the 2-4 Oakland Raiders. Last week, the Raiders pulled out a 16-13 victory in overtime against the New York Jets at home. This matchup features two brothers, Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan and Raiders defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. The Raiders are lead by interim Head Coach Tom Cable, who took over after Raiders owner Al Davis fired former Head Coach Lane Kiffin. The Raiders defense has picked off seven passes so far this year, the same amount of passes that Ravens QB Joe Flacco has thrown so far this season and only two touchdowns. I predict the Ravens winning, 31-7.
Suggestion: The Ravens will have to face a tough QB in JaMarcus Russell and a tough RB in Justin Fargas, if they can stop Fargas and Russell, it will be a long day for the Raiders offense.
