Ravens Report- Week 7 2008

Ravens Report
Last Sunday, the Ravens suffered an embarrassing loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts, 31-3. The Colts got on the board first on a 67-yard pass from QB Peyton Manning to WR Marvin Harrison. Then, Manning found WR Reggie Wayne for a 22-yard touchdown to make the score 14-0. Then, Colts K Adam Vinateiri hit a 37-yard field goal and the Colts had a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Colts lead the Ravens 24-0 at halftime after a 5-yard pass from Manning to Harrison. Then, in the third quarter, Colts RB Dominic Rhodes ran 1-yard into the end zone to make the score 31-0. The Ravens only score was a 37-yard field goal from K Matt Stover.
Player of the Game: Colts QB Peyton Manning- 19/28 for 271 yards and 3 TDs
Goat of the Game: Ravens FB Le’Ron McClain- 2 rushes, -2 yards
Next Sunday the Ravens head to Miami for the second consecutive year to face the 2-3 Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins went 1-15 last year, their only win coming against the Ravens in Week 15. The Dolphins offense is lead by RB Ronnie Brown, who leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns with seven, and has a rushing touchdown in four consecutive games. The Dolphins defense is lead by LB Joey Porter, a former Steeler who has a history of rough goings with the Ravens. Ravens QB Joe Flacco was intercepted three times last week to a less than stellar Colts defense, if the Dolphins blitz a lot on Sunday, expect Flacco to make more mistakes. This will be an exciting low-scoring game, and I have the Ravens winning, 13-10.
Suggestion: The Ravens defense needs to shutdown Ronnie Brown. If they can stop Brown, they have a great chance of getting into the head of QB Chad Pennington, forcing him to make mistakes.

All the problems you wrote about last week, only more. Too sad to think about. True, the season's still young but it's looking painful. The best thing about the game is your new heading "Goat of the Game". That's great. Even when the game sucks, at least I can look forward to your blog.
